Stepping stones

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out  what to do.  Finally, he decided the animal was old, and  the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve  the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.  At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.  Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally  looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of  dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.  He would  shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.  Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of  the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of
the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off  and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred -  Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never  happen.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less

NOW -------- Enough of that crap . .The donkey later came back and bit the shit out of the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer
eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong and try to cover  your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth Tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

"You will simply call her, "Mom."

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Inspirational Email Of The Week

Hey!

I was searching the internet to find out if the "eye of God" photo was legit and stumbled upon your site!  I'd checked snopes, but couldn't find- funny, on my askjeeves search, your site showed up, "snopes, 'this eye of god' photo is for real..etc".

Anyway, I was touched by your mention of the Passion movie.  I'm not real interested in some of your links (although I have seen a few before- some of the funny and not so nasty ones!), but as a Christian, I just wanted to thank you for including the movie and being so honest about your reaction to it!  What you said about being drawn to it-Jesus draws everyone to Him!  We just can't help but be drawn to Him, He is our Savior and I hope the movie makes a lasing impression on you!  He loves us so much that He really did go through all of that (plus years of persecution and rejection) to save us.  I see the links on your site and wonder if you know much about Christ.  I won't say much, but I want to tell you that man's religious system is not what Christianity is all about- Christ really wants to have a personal relationship with us, through the power of the Holy Spirit!  Religion can't offer that!  I was born again 2 years ago and have felt the actual presecne of the Lord with me many times since then. Some are sceptic, but for those that have faith-- Jesus is Real and still Alive- He truly does reach out to us and it  blesses me to hear that He reached out to you.  You must be His little brother, cause Jesus is the Long-arm-guy! Bless you, Shortarmguy!

A sobbing little girl stood near a small church from which she had been turned away because it was "too crowded."

"I can't go to Sunday School," she sobbed to the pastor as he walked by.

Seeing her shabby, unkempt appearance, the pastor guessed the reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a place for her in the Sunday school class. The child was so happy that they found room for her, and she went to bed that night thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus.

Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor tenement buildings. Her parents called for the kindhearted pastor who had befriended their daughter to handle the final arrangements.

As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled red purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some trash dump.  Inside was found 57 cents and a note, scribbled in childish  handwriting, which read: "This is to help build the little church bigger so more children
can go to Sunday School."

For two years she had saved for this offering of love.

When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and devotion.

He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for the larger building.

But the story does not end there...

A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read by a wealthy Realtor who offered them a parcel of land worth many thousands.

When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered to sell it to the little church for 57 cents.

Church members made large donations. Checks came from far and wide.  Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to $250,000.00--a huge sum for that time (near the turn of the century). Her
unselfish love  had paid large dividends.

When you are in the city of Philadelphia, look up Temple Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300. And be sure to visit Temple University, where thousands of students are educated.

Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday School building which houses hundreds of beautiful children, built so that no child in the area will ever need to be left outside during Sunday school time.

In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of the sweet face of the little girl whose 57 cents, so sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history. Alongside of it is a portrait of her kind
pastor, Dr. Russell H. Conwell, author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds"

This is a true story, which goes to show WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57 CENTS.

REMEMBER to make a wish before you read the prayer. That's all you have
to do. There is nothing attached. This is a powerful novena.

St. Theresa Prayer

May today there be peace within.  May you trust your highest power that
you are exactly where you are meant to be.... May you not forget the
infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.... May you be content knowing you are a
child of God.... Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow
your soul the freedom to sing, dance, It is there for each and every one of you....

The Best Email I Received For Easter

Lovely Rose at 87

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.

I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, "Hi handsome. My name is RoseI'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?"

I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a giant squeeze.

"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked.

She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids..."

"No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

"I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!" she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake.

We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went.

She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students.

She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet.

I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.

There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.

We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!

There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up

If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.

Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.

The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."

She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose"

She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.

At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.

One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.

Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

The Little Things

After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other
companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to
share their available office space.  At a morning meeting, the head of
security told stories of why these people were alive...... and all the
 stories were just:

The  'L I T T L E'  things .

As you might know, the head of the company got in late  that day  because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't  go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.

One of them missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.

One's car wouldn't start.

One went back to answer the telephone.

One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.

One couldn't get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes
that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got
there,  he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.   That is why he is alive today.

Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer
a ringing telephone ... all the little things that annoy me. I think to
myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment.

Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow
getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every
 traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated;

God is at work watching over you.

May God continue to bless you with all those annoying little things
and may you remember their possible purpose.

Pass this on to someone else, if you'd like.

There is NO LUCK attached.

If you delete this, it's okay.

This is absolutely amazing!!!!

This Common Carrier brought us a frozen load of Gilroy Foods  today. This truck was awesome. You can decide whether or not it is. Here is some info I took down after talking with the owner operator. Their names are John & Amy Holmgren. They live in Shafer Minn. They thought this would be a nice tribute to the people that lost their lives.  It has every name of each person that lost their life on 9-11 This concept was thought up by John and Amy, and totally paid for by them. John says it will be awhile paying the loan off that he had to take out to do it, but thought this was the least he could do. Applied Graphics in Fargo ND done most of the work and Paul Kosenski did the Hand painting. He said that he got to meet the Country Singer Darryl Worley, who Sang the song "Have You Forgotten" and has gotten pulled over 3 times by the police just to get their picture taken by this truck. He plans on attending the Mid America Truck show in Louisville KY in March.

These are beautiful!  Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Christ laughing! A concept I hadn't seen before. I don't know who the artist is, but she is a very talented lady.
